Scribes returned from the holiday break with big ambitions for the season ahead. The Women have moved up to Division 1, while the Men are aiming to keep pace with the pack leaders in Division 2.
First up for the Women was a clash with the Bayside Sharks. The match proved to be a formidable test, and much like Scribes debut in Division 2 all those years ago, there was more one way traffic than the the home team would have liked. Alise and Kelsey had the lone tries for the Scribes, who fell 58-10 to a deep and talented Sharks side.
According to post-game comments from the players, the game was a bit of a wake up call in terms of cardio, pace and execution, which should bring a sense of urgency to training sessions ahead of their upcoming game against Brit Lions.
The Scribes Men, meanwhile, slogged through an intense Saturday morning training session as they prepare to face Brit Lions as well on February 1st.
