The rugby season is nearly here!
The Scribes Women renew their quest for their first-ever Division 2 title on Saturday, September 16th, when they travel to Ridge Meadows. The Scribes and Bruins have played in some thrilling matches during the last couple seasons and the Bruins always do a first-class job of hosting afterward. It should be a great fixture to kick off the season.
Scribes then host Westshore on September 23rd and Surrey on September 30th. The October calendar includes away matches in Langley, Capilano and the Okanagan. November features a match against Rowers, followed a quick Cup competition and then the winter break. The regular season then resumes in late January.
The BCRU schedule itself promises to be long, daunting affair, with the usual semester based approach replaced by a true full-season calendar. Wins in September will be just as important to the playoff seeding as wins in March, so it will be vital for Scribes to keep their composure early on and focus on the long-term process. Depth will equally play a major role in Scribes’ success, and given the number of games, everyone in the Scribes setup will get plenty of playing time.
NEW PLAYERS ARE INVITED TO JOIN SCRIBES RFC.
