Scribes Women win 38-0 over Bayside
A heavy fog enveloped the pitch on Saturday morning in South Surrey, and no less enveloping was the Scribes defence. They smothered all attacks that the Bayside Sharks could muster en-route to another confident victory. At times, it looked like the Sharks were chasing the fog itself, with uncatchable attackers slipping through their outstretched hands.
The win propelled Scribes to within two points of the table-leading United RC, though Scribes enjoy a game in hand. They’ll attempt to vault to the top of the standings this coming Saturday against Capilano.
Scribes Men lose 36-12 against Burnaby Lake
Scribes Men always have a chance to win games when their forward pack is assertive and effective, but if opponents can gain an upper hand in the scrum, it can lead to a lot of ball chasing and defensive penalties. Regretfully, the latter scenario unfolded on Saturday, with Burnaby Lake wearing down the Scribes forwards during a tight first half, and then surging forward in the second half.
It was 36-0 for the Lakers before Scribes hit back with a pair of tries, including the first from newcomer Paul Manse.
Scribes get next weekend off before returning to play on November 3rd when they host Kelowna.

Scribes enjoyed a fantastic Sunday morning at Jericho Beach. The program continues to make great strides, and it’s always satisfying to watch the Scribes score tries against the Lomas, no matter the age group.
