Despite last weekends loss to the Ex-Brits, the Scribes seem to be picking up steam and are hungry for another win when they face Surrey this weekend.  Kick off is at 1pm so be there ready to warm up for 12noon.  If you need a lift meet at the clubhouse at 1130am.

That’s right it is “Movember” once again and Scribes will be working hard to grow out their beards till the end of the month.  So whether its Cliff Claven, the Unabomber, or the big JC himself you are trying to emulate, he who has the best mo’ will be given a prize yet to be determined.  Happy growing!

Bowling November 9th at Grandvi ew Lanes

The Scribes have reserved four lanes this coming Saturday November 10th for those that want to come out for something a little different.  The cost is only $15 a piece and it includes shoe rentals and some tasty appetizers.  Drinks are served at the lanes as well is standard bowling alley grub.  You are encouraged to bring your significant others and friends.  The more the merrier.  Get your money to Brent this Saturday so he can tally up the numbers.

Scribes Pub Crawl

The Scribes want to invite all their team mates to join the in a night on the town the first weekend at the end of this first half of the season.  So probably on December 8th if Chuckanut doesn’t make it up.& nbsp; We plan on visiting several different fine and not so fine establishments in the area and down town.  Bound to be a good laugh as the Scribes have proven they definitely know how to make their own fun, often at the expense of themselves and others.  So we hope to see you out there for a big finish to the first half of the season.

Scribes and Gents Tour to the San Diego IRB International Sevens Tournament

The East Side Gents are well on their way with organizing a tour down to San Diego for the San Diego Sevens tourney, and a number of Scribes have expressed interest in going as well.  Not only is there the opportunity to watch some of the best sevens rugby in the world, but the Scribes will also have to opportunity to enter in an international invita tional tourney.  The Scribes plan to depart Wednesday February 6th , compete for two days, and watch the sevens rugby over the weekend, and return Sunday February 10th.  The date is not far away so we are looking for guys to commit as soon as possible, and we will be taking deposits to secure in the next couple weeks.  We are also looking for means of fundraising to take care some of the costs.  If anyone has any ideas that think would help, please don’t hesitate to send us an email.  We have to act fast if this great trip is going to happen.

And while I am asking for money, dues are long over due.  Please get some money to Todd Campbell as we already have the BCRU breathing down our backs for funds for the refs, fields, insurance and lots of other things.
