Scribes defence beats Surrey

Seems we were destined to play this game as the rains heavy rains let up just in time for the game against the Surrey Beavers. Surrey came in strong after winning three straight, and they loked to do so again after spending the first twenty minutes inside the Scribes own 22. However the scribes put on a strong defence show rarely missing a tackle and forcing the visiting side to cough up the ball. Dan Trethowan turned things around after Cam Mcausla had super run breaking through the Surey back line and dishing the ball nicely to Dan giving the Scribes the lead after the first half. The second half was spent mostly around midfield as the wet conditions made the ball hard to hold onto, and good tackling kept both teams close. Brad Wilson broke the line with a sweet ship to himself where he put the ball down for another try, and Grant soon followed touching down his own grubber sealing another win for the Scribes. Adrian Picard was man of the match refusing to give up any real estate around the forward pack, and Vatche Yerevanian put in a good effort in the front row. Despite a bye this week the Scribes will still be practicing getting ready for their game at home against Langley, and don't forget we have four lanes booked at the Grandview Lanes for a night out on November 9th.
