WOMEN: The Scribes Women stretched their winning streak to three games with a convincing 85-12 victory over Langley. The win set a new team record for points scored in a match, and also featured the first-ever try for Sonia Kung, much to the delight of her teammates.
The bonus-point win vaults Scribes into second place in the standings, with a slim 1 point advantage over third-place Maple Ridge. The two teams go head-to-head next Saturday in East Vancouver.
MEN: The Scribes Men struggled to stop the Burnaby Lake attack in their first meeting of the season back in September, but were in much better form during the return engagement on Saturday.
Scribes were able to effectively shut down 14 of the 15 Burnaby Lake players, by Sean McKeown proved to be nearly untouchable, scoring three tries for the Lakers on route to their 26-3 victory.
It was the third consecutive defeat for the Scribes Men, who are still looking for their first win of 2018.
