Canada 7’s
This weekend is the Canada 7’s. We’ll be playing a friendly against Port Alberni at 6.15pm this evening at Empire Fields and hosting them back at the legion.
7’s first game starts on Saturday at 09:30am with South Africa vs Scotland, and goes full-tilt until 7:30pm. In/Out privileges end at 1:00pm, be prepared to pay exorbitant prices for beer. Schedule and more info can be found here: http://www.canadasevens.com/mens/schedule-results/

The Scribes costume theme is super heroes and villains. We’re planning on meeting in section 252 at BC Place – http://www.bcplace.com/the-stadium/stadium-map.

We have arranged an after-party for Saturday and Sunday nights. Tickets for both nights cost $20 which includes drinks specials at each place. Saturday we are going to the Butcher and Bullock & Sunday we are doing a pub crawl starting at the lamplighter from 7 -9, then bar none from 9-11 & New Oxford from 11-2am. All proceeds from the tickets sold goes back to Scribes RFC. We will have 150 tickets for sale early next week.

Men’s
We are playing a friendly this evening against Port Alberni. Kick off is at 6.15 at Empire Fields. All players welcome to come. We’ll be hosting them at the legion afterwards and getting a start on the weekend’s festivities.

Women’s
Both teams have a bye this weekend – Try to get some cardio in to keep your fitness up, I’m 85% sure Boat-Races count. Training on Monday, 6:30pm at Trout Lake Gravel Field and Wednesday, 7:30pm at Empire Fields. Bring a friend or two – training is always more productive when we have numbers. We only have a few more games left in our season, please make an effort to be on time for training, ready to work.

Mini’s
Scribes minis are taking a 3 Sunday break. Vancouver Seven’s this weekend followed by spring break and then Easter Sunday. April 3rd a jamboree is scheduled. Have a nice rest and time with family.
