Scribes RFC Update. April 22

Upcoming dates:
End of Season Banquet & awards night
The end of season banquet will take place on April 30th at the Library Square. We hope to see all players, supporters and friends of the Scribes attending again this year. Please ask Marcus or usual suspects on the exec for tickets.
Club day
We are planning on having a club day on May 7th. We will have a Men’s game, women’s game and mini’s games. We will host a BBQ etc at Trout Lake rugby field. More details to follow shortly.

Tag Rugby

Our tag rugby comes back next Wednesday at 6.30pm on John Hendry field at Trout Lake. Please bring friends down for a run. This has been a good way to get new folks involved in the club and to keep the legs fresh for preseason training.

Coaching Course
We are setting up a level 1 coaching course for our members. There is a sign up sheet below. If you are interested in going, sign up and let us know what dates you are available.

Women’s
We have our BC Semi-Finals this Saturday, against Ridge Meadows. Kick off is at 11:30am at Maple Ridge Secondary (21911 122 Ave, Maple Ridge) please meet at the Legion at 9:15am for carpool/rides!! We will be hosted at the Ridge Brewery afterwards, please make every effort to stick around afterwards for it.
 
Our Scribes Banquet & Awards night is scheduled for April 30/16, starting at 5pm at Library Square – tickets are $35 each and include dinner and a drink. This is a great opportunity to celebrate the season and recognize outstanding people in the club. Bring your +1’s, +2’s and +3’s!


Mini’s

Hi Scribes, this weekend we are travelling to South Surrey for a jamboree hosted by the Bayside Sharks. Kick off is at 10;00, but please meet your team no later than 09:45 for warm up and to be on our assigned fields ready to play. The field is located at the corner of 148 St and 20th Avenue in Surrey. As usual they will provide snacks and refreshments after the games. This will conclude our jamboree season but a reminder of the Scribes Club/Family day planned for SATURDAY, May 7th at Trout lake. Men’s,women’s, minis, touch/flag rugby, BBQ, drinks and good times. Time to be confirmed with el Presidente.

 If you haven’t responded to whether you are attending Sunday can you please do so in case we cannot field enough players we will find a club to merge with. Cheers, Mike
