Vancouver Elections are coming up and two rugby guys are running for office.

Firstly, Scribes’ very own Hilary Brown is running with Kennedy Stewart’s team Forward Together for city council. Hilary joined the Scribes when he first moved to Vancouver in 1988 and played up until his accident. He then moved into a social role and quickly joined the Executive. He has continued to be a supporter of Scribes and helped to set up wheelchair floorball in the Vancouver area. He plans to be at the tournament on Saturday and would like to hear from Scribes players and families about the issues facing them in Vancouver. Learn more about Hilary:

Secondly, after successfully reviving the Vancouver Rogues in 2021, President and Head Coach, Brennan Bastyovanszky is running for Park Board with ABC Vancouver.

Brennan will ensure the city provides a Restoration Fund to bring Park Board assets up to standard, including grass fields and artificial turf, as well as providing a driving force for adding lights to fields and an artificial turf field suitable for rugby.

Brennan wants to enable the Park Board to be more responsive to Vancouverites
