Week 3 Preview: Women Await Westshore, Men on the Mountain, Kids Kickoff

WEEK #3

Women:
Following a big 17-14 win over Ridge Meadows last week, the Scribes Women will aim two make it back-to-back victories when they host Westshore on Saturday.

The Victoria based club features a powerhouse Premier Women’s side, and occasional playing experience at that higher level surely benefits the players on their Division 2 squad.

Training this week has gone well for the Scribes, and with the game being played on home turf, Coach Marcus Treacy should have a deep roster to draw from.

Kickoff at Trout Lake is scheduled for 1:00pm on Saturday, September 23rd.

Men:
The Scribes Men will look to get into the win column this Saturday when they scale Burnaby Mountain to face SFU. The students will be a fit side, no doubt, but Scribes will look use their experience as an edge in the set pieces and at the breakdown.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00pm at Field #4 on Burnaby campus.

Minis:
While originally scheduled for Jericho Park, the Scribes Minis will now be playing their opening match of the season at Trout Lake this Sunday, starting at 10:00am.

The competition will follow a regional format, with Minis players from Ravens, Rowers and Lomas also in attendance.

Team management has asked any Scribes parents to come by and lend a hand on the hotdog stand (the hospitality will be returned when we play away matches), so let’s show them some East Vancouver and Scribes hospitality.

We will also need players to help set up the fields, and to any of our Scribes Referees, please drop by with a whistle.
