Scribes vs Kelowna
November 3, 2018
Scribes were fired up for a big club day in East Vancouver against Kelowna, but the visitors struggled to fill their bus and had to forfeit both the men’s and women’s matches. No matter, Scribes were happy to take the points in the standings, loan the weary travelers some extra bodies and get a pair of exhibition games played.
Men
Cameron McAuslan led the Scribes Men for the first time as Captain, and helped steer the boys to an important confidence building victory as they head into the Remembrance Day bye week.
Scribes now sit at 2W – 4L on their campaign, and have pulled level with 7th place United Rugby, whom they’ll play next. That match is scheduled for November 17.
Women
The Scribes Women and Kelowna Women settled on a 10-aside exhibition game format, with the Scribes emerging as 40-35 winners of an entertaining back-and-forth tryfest.
Following the break, Scribes will host league leading United Rugby with a playoff spot on the line. That match is also scheduled for November 17.
