We are looking to recruit a Head Coach for our Women’s Rugby Team:

Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience coaching rugby at a competitive level
  • Fully Certified or willing to work towards this through the club
  • Minimum Coaching Certification at the NCCP Introduction to Competition Context
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Availability requirements

The BC Rugby Women’s Division 1 competitive season runs from September until May, apart from a multi-week break that begins in mid-December.

The successful applicant is expected to be available for the majority of:

  Matches on Saturdays

  • Primarily held in the Lower Mainland area
  • Kickoff times are typically 11:30am or 1:00pm, but may vary
  • Two to four away-fixtures per season will include travel to Okanagan or Van. Island

  Training sessions

  • Mondays from 6:30pm at John Hendry Park
  • Wednesdays from 7:30pm at PNE-Empire Grounds

Residency requirements

The candidate must already reside in Canada, be eligible to work in Canada and have a valid work permit for Canada. Scribes RFC are not able to sponsor out-of-country candidates.

Schedule:
July – August is tag rugby season. This is a good option for new player to learn basic rugby skills:  run – catch – pass. For more experienced players, it’s a great way to maintain skills and keep fit. We play every Wednesday evening at 6.30pm at Trout Lake rugby field, which is located in the North East corner of John Hendry Park. 
September – November is Men’s and Women’s rugby season. Training takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings, with games on Saturdays.
September – November is also Mini rugby season. Training and games take place on Sunday mornings, starting at 10:00am.
January – May is when our Men’s, Women’s and Minis Teams return from the winter break to chase top honors in the BC Rugby club championships.
