1966–2026 · 60 Years of Scribes
We're Writing a Book!
Contributing to Scribes history. Tell your story from over the years.
Submit Your StoryScribes RFC turns 60 in 2026, and we're putting together a book to mark it.
Since five journalists and a supporter founded the club in the bar of the Newsmen's Club in the fall of 1966, thousands of players, coaches, families and volunteers have passed through Scribes. The club records only capture a fraction of that. The rest lives in the memories of the people who were there.
That's where you come in. Whether you played one season or thirty, whether you were on the pitch, behind the bar or on the sideline in the rain, we want your stories. No story is too small, and you don't need to be a writer. A few paragraphs is plenty, and we'll take it from there.
Not Sure Where to Start?
Things We'd Love to Hear About
Your first season
How you found the club, who talked you into it, and what those early games were like.

The trips away to Hawaii, Britain, Ireland, Belgium, Japan and New Zealand, and everything that happened on them.
Matches you still talk about
Finals, grudge games, comebacks, or a wet Tuesday that somehow stuck with you.
The people
Teammates, coaches, volunteers and characters who made the club what it is.
Life at the clubhouse
Post-match sessions, socials, traditions, and the stories that go with them.
Photos & memorabilia

Send Us Your Story
